WAKE UP AMERICA!

At the risk of sounding like a cantankerous, old man, I am just wondering what the hell is going on in this country. Have we become so complacent and distracted with our own issues and problems, that we have completely ignored what the government is doing to us? Have we become so preoccupied with American Idol, The Biggest Loser, the number 1 song in America, and MySpace, to pay attention to the obscene economic polices being thrust upon us on a daily basis? Is government corruption and the biased-media setting up smoke screens to obscure and twist the truth about what is really going on? (I know, look for the black helicopters) Sometimes I think that some of these distractions are purposely implanted into our culture, as not to alert us to the fact that our elected officials are wasting our money on meaningless and completely absurd things. This federal "bailout" is ruining our entire economic stability. Bailing out car manufacturers and controlling what products they make, sounds eerily socialist to me. When the federal government "bails out" private corporations, they in essence, have a say in how they are run. I can't think of any well-managed institutions ran by the federal government. Can you? The more we ignore the problem, and the more complacent we become, the more these "elected" officials will do whatever they want. It is ultimately up to US, the American people, to dictate to THEM what WE want and need. Not the other way around... WAKE UP to the way things are going before it's too late. Voice your concerns and opinions through any way possible. Attend political rallies and events. Sign petitions. Just get up off the couch, turn off Family Guy, and do SOMETHING!!!!! OK.... End of rant......
