The Journey Continues...

We are supposed to grow and learn, but there are times when we lose reason, logic, and the ability to draw contrast in our daily lives. Sometimes trauma can bring on these changes. Perhaps it's a defense mechanism designed to help us cope with extreme darkness. Maybe we hide within ourselves so much after something horrible happens, that it's difficult to fully return to the florescent lights of reality. Maybe a short circuit in our wiring creates the inability to function as fully as we once did. We see this in stroke victims and various head trauma patients. In some cases, it's just a minor issue of randomness, or slight illogical behavior. We might be completely normal other than a few residual effects of the severe events we have suffered. If these are just occasional running thoughts that happen to make little sense, that could be entertaining; but if logic seems to constantly escape us, that is reason for concern. I am not sure which this is, so I am thankful, cautiously optimistic, but still slightly skeptical...
