This Generation

We live off psychotropic drugs; pushing through life like it's a dramatic chore. We watch pointless reality shows which in reality, isn't really consistent with reality. We Facebook, e-mail, and text our family and friends more than we see them. We all walk around with "smart phones", and have the Internet at our fingertips 24/7. The music in this generation seems to be repetitive dance beats with a catchy melody, but not too much substance. The fashion really hasn't changed since 2000, and it seems that people in general are simply apathetic and content with their daily lives. Where is the passion today? Where is the motivation to break new ground, and be original? Most movies lately are taken from old movies or already created ideas. Where have the ground-breaking new concepts, technology, music, fashions, and original thoughts gone? I know I sound old, but the 80's introduced a plethora of fresh, new things. We introduced new fashions, music, technology, and completely original ideas to the world. Even the 90's was the decade of the "dot com" era. We introduced grunge music, and Nirvana was on top of the charts. What has the current generation given us "new"? Are we suffering from media overload to the point that it has affected our creativity? I'm sorry, but this decade simply called it in, and didn't show up...
