The massive blooms from the hibiscus float in the pool on this scorching day. Even submerged in the water, the sun makes it almost unbearable. There is something peaceful about floating on your back; gazing up into the endless blue sky. An occasional, warm breeze touches my face, and all my troubles seem to sink to the bottom of the pool. My scheduled, mundane life doesn't seem as bad today. Soon, the pool will be invaded by two small children asking me to play with them. The laughter touches my soul. My loneliness fades away. During the long trek from their house, we talk about their week. I long for their companionship during my hectic work week, and those little smiles help me through. These long, summer days with them validate my existence, and for a brief time, all seems right in the universe.

Darrell your post today is beautiful!
It took me to a soothing relaxing place...then suddenly made me bust out laughing..and ended by deeply touching my heart and soul as I thought about the truth in the words you wrote.
Thank you for sharing it.
Very beautiful, you have beautiful, sweet little girls. Give them a hug and tell them I said hello. Mona
