FDA and Tobacco

By: D. Hoover

The FDA is about to be able to regulate the tobacco industry. There will be scarier warnings on cigarette packs, and they will have to list ALL the ingredients in their products. The FDA will NOT be able to ban tobacco products, restrict the sell of them, or arrest you for smoking. So, in essence, what exactly will they be regulating? This product, used as directed, will still kill you. Why don't they just ban the sell of it? With the rising health costs of tobacco-related illness, it only makes sense to ban this dangerous product. Wait. That's right. President Obama just raised the tax on cigarettes by $1.00 a pack. The states already tax them to pay for schools, roads, etc. Apparently, it is our OBLIGATION as tax payers to smoke. If everyone stopped, where would the states get their revenue for public education? The FDA and the government are really on the anti-smoking band wagon. But are they really? I think the government should really look into the legalization of pot. The Treasury really needs the cash right now. They could tax it, and make a lot of state and federal revenue. How many pot-related health issues, accidents and injuries are there in the US? I would say the tobacco and alcohol industries have far more. But those things are LEGAL. Those things are TAXED. Ummmmmmmm...... Don't be judgemental. What happens when they tax sugar, red meat, and salt next? It's only a matter of time....

LOL....lol. I needed those laughs!
You have a good sense of humor. Speaking of cig. taxes, I went to the website where they had passed the tax increases on them. Obama was talking so saintly and concerned about how dangerous smoking is. He said he was doing it to encourage smokers to quit and help reduce the number of people who smoke. Then in the very NEXT line he said how much money it was expected to generate, and the number was way up there! I reported. Now you decide his motive. I sincerely think they should legalize pot and tax it to generate funds. It is less harmful than alcohol by a long shot! The world would be a more peaceful place. They may have to increase the production of brownies and chips, but hey...it's better than getting killed by a drunk driver. Spouses wouldn't get drunk and beat up on each other. Instead, just give them a joint and they would suddenly love each other so much they've forgot why they were mad.Instead, they legalize alcohol and open up these places you can drive to drink...all legal, then sit and wait on you to leave so they can arrest you for drunk driving, and if you're not caught you may kill someone. Makes no sense. I miss common sense.~

Smells like chronic. I think I just got high off of this blog. I'm way to paranoid to leave the house. I might get run over by a drunk jet pilot flying a 747, or an ultralight.
